Henry Hudson 400 Membership Drive
As
of May 12, 2008, gifts approximate three-quarters of a million dollars. Currently, initiatives are underway to contact our
members throughout Florida and the Midwest. To date, 96 members and Friends have made contributions to The Holland Society's
first major capital campaign in 123 years. We have every confidence that the number of participants will continue to grow
throughout the remainder of the campaign, which is scheduled to conclude in November of 2008.
Our original goal was $650,000, but in recognition of the stunning commitment made by our Trustees, Branch Presidents, and
other leaders of $600,000, the Board of Trustees raised the goal to $800,000 earlier this year. As National Campaign Chairman,
I have every confidence that we will meet or exceed our current goal.
I think it is extraordinarily important that each of our members and Friends consider carefully the importance of contributing
to strengthen The Holland Society's financial resources as we face the future, since we have never had a major capital campaign.
We are all aware in each of our communities that hospitals, universities, and community organizations often raise money for
their endowments in order to strengthen their balance sheets and remain vital to their constituencies. I hope all members
will consider making a commitment of at least $100 to the Henry Hudson Capital Campaign.
Respectfully,
Charles Zabriskie, Jr.
National Campaign Chairman
