Annual Banquet 2016

We held our Society’s 130th Annual Banquet on November 17 with this year’s recipient of the HSNY Gold Medal for Outstanding Achievement, Col. Jerry L. Ross (here with Directress-General of the Society of Daughters of Holland Dames, Elbrun Kimmelman), who made a record setting seven trips on the space shuttle during his NASA/Air Force career. For the first time ever, we had a professional video recording done and as soon as it is edited we will put it on the website so that our members and friends, who could not attend, can see highlights of the banquet and hear Col. Jerry L. Ross’s presentation. Dolph Hogewoning the new Dutch Consul General who assumed his post in New York this September attended his first Holland Society function. Members of the Dutch Consulate in the US have traditionally been great friends and supporters of our Society. Also among the honored guests were past presidents Bill Van Winkle and Dr. Bob Schenck, and Secretary of the Third of Oktober Assoc. of Leiden, the Netherlands, Dr. Jurgen van der Velden. Special thanks to Stephen Wyckoff, Banquet Committee Chairman and Trustee Emeritus, who works so hard to make this event, as usual, successful.
